Broadway Classroom was created to be a flexible program, and any group with any skill level can participate in the majority of the workshops. With a pre-workshop questionnaire completed by you, we will customize each workshop to meet your group’s needs. Each workshop is unique; however, there are some details that are consistent for all of the Broadway Classroom workshops.

• You will not be combined with other groups.
• Workshops are 90 minutes (except where noted)
• A representative will be on-site to ensure the workshop runs smoothly.
• A Broadway performer may teach your workshop.
• Be a guest at the end of a session, except where noted.
• Held in theatrical rehearsal studios (most within walking distance to theatre)
• Taught by qualified teaching artists & Broadway performers.
• Based on National Standards for Art Education

WORKSHOPS FOR EVERYONE: These workshops are perfect for groups of any level. Focus is placed on quick thinking skills, creativity and team work. They can be tailored to any groups’ level of experiences.

BROADWAY REHEARSAL WORKSHOP
90 minutes
A true Broadway rehearsal is recreated! Learn the music, choreography and staging from a current/past Broadway performer from the show they’ll attend or a show of their choice!

BROADWAY CHORAL WORKSHOP
60 or 90 minutes
Learn vocal technique and song interpretation while working with a musical director and Broadway performer. Sheet music provided.

DANCE WORKSHOP
60 or 90 minutes
Broadway choreography taught by a current or past Broadway performer. Start with a full warm-up then learn dance combinations ending with a brief performance of what they were taught.

ACTING WORKSHOP
90 minutes
A professional actor/teacher works with students to strengthen basic acting techniques and character development. This workshop encourages bold and creative acting choices and can be tailored to your group’s experience level.

MEET THE ARTIST WORKSHOP
60 minutes
The opportunity to talk one-on-one with a Broadway professional about their journey to Broadway is conducted as a question and answer session and lets the group explore the vast opportunities, pitfalls and thrills of the profession.

MAKE-UP WORKSHOP
90 minutes
Working with a Broadway make-up artist, this interactive session offers students the experience of being made-up to “go on” for a Broadway musical. Various make-up techniques and their application are taught while learning the tricks of the trade that go into creating Broadway’s most famous looks.
